Library Summer Events 2018

Grab your spurs and journey with us to the Science Tellers Wild West:  The mystery of the haunted piano on Wednesday, July 11 at 11:00 at the Chesterfield Community Center.  This interactive story allows kids of all ages to explore the fascinating science behind chemical reactions, combustion, air pressure, inertia, and more. Don't miss this classic action packed western with "notes" of science.  This program is funded by a multigenerational grant awarded by Highland Valley Elder services to the Chesterfield COA in partnership with the Chesterfield Library.

On Wednesday, July 18 at 11:00 in the Chesterfield Town Hall, "Lively Dance" -  an introduction to Jazz Dance will be taught by Martha Lively, a local dance artist and instructor of Ashfield.  This class is a wonderful introduction to the world of Jazz, taught in a fun and creative way.  Learn basic jazz steps through a warm up, movement across the floor and end in a funky combination.  Come and get your groove on!  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is for students of all ages.

Blast Off with Ed the Wizard!  Build and fly air powered rockets and airplanes on Wednesday, July 25 at 11:00 in the Chesterfield Town Hall.  This workshop is funded by the Chesterfield Cultural Council and is limited to 30 participants.  Have fun learning about the basic properties of flight and aerodynamics.  Ed has designed and prepared the rocket and airplane kits that will be used and are propelled by a force of air, not by air tossing.  This will be an educational and enjoyable experience!
